“Every day we live on different levels. Our life unfolds on the level of profession, family, friendships, and interests. All these levels are connected by a single red thread. Understanding who we are and what we want means activating all the resources available to realize ourselves in every aspect of life. Finding our true motivation translates into moving and using all the energies we have—and even those we don’t know we possess. It means letting our talents blossom, on every level, from the professional to the personal. From my previous experience as a manager, combined with that of counselor and coach, I have developed a method. It is an action plan that allows people to achieve their authentic goals, even if challenging. It starts with desire, moves through the ability to act, and leads to action. All of this applies both to work and to everyday life. In practice, it is a path of awareness through which I gradually guide the person.” Liana Dugaro Coach (YouTube video below).
If you believe you’ve tried everything to reach your goals without success, maybe it’s time to give your “reptilian brain” a chance.
You might be surprised to discover that the results you couldn’t achieve through rationality (1) and relational skills (2) can be reached thanks to instinct (3), the power of your most ancient reptilian brain.
I too searched for a long time for balance between profession and private life. First while I was supporting colleagues aged 23 to 65 in five different countries through their career transitions, then by personally experiencing the leap from banking management to the free profession of coach and counselor, and the existential shift from city to province.
At first, I sought balance by working on the cognitive level, then by exploring the emotional level. Finally, I tried one more approach and discovered something new.
Through direct experience I understood that:
(1) The rational brain (neocortex) does excellent work in situations where logic, calculation, and procedures prevail.
(2) The emotional brain (limbic system) is most competent when it comes to weaving functional relationships.
(3) The instinctual brain (reptilian) is unbeatable at removing obstacles that stand between us and our goals, resisting sheer willpower.
What worked for me, I now propose to the people – men and women – I accompany in building their desired life situation, where optimal professional results combine with a more satisfying personal life.
In addition, I have a special proposal for super-busy women – and for you, if you are one of them!
Did you know that the female cycle can be experienced as an opportunity to better manage personal and professional projects?
In my practice, I guide women who have already achieved significant goals in life and who want to accomplish something more or different, integrating their cycle as a resource.
Working together, within each project, we optimize the energies of the four phases of the cycle—female or lunar—alternating and cyclically focusing on action, interaction with others, problem-solving, and reviewing projects and relationships.
